The North Cornwall Coach Company operated the Pioneer horse coach, connecting railway arrivals at Wadebridge with the Newquay area. An advertisement dated 27 June 1895 is reproduced in a Railway & Canal Historical Society study.

Its service illustrates how road transport could join separate railway networks. Newquay’s Atlantic Hotel appears as a coach destination in the research. Accounts of the precise route differ over a temporary Padstow and Mawgan diversion, so the road alignment and advertised timings need to be tied to the particular dated service rather than combined into one permanent route.
