Chacewater is a village in a valley west of Truro, in one of Cornwall’s historic mining districts. Nearby workings and the settlements around them gave it a life before it became a name on a railway map.
For the Perranporth railway story, Chacewater matters as the junction with the main line. The branch ran from there through the north-coast district towards Newquay. A local line therefore depended on connections elsewhere: passengers and goods were entering a wider network.
The village and its former station are separate map subjects. The village pin provides orientation; it does not identify a surviving passenger station or an operating stop.
