Chacewater station linked the Cornwall main line with the branch towards St Agnes, Perranporth and Newquay. It was a railway interchange, distinct from the village whose name it carried.
The branch opened in stages in 1903 and 1905 and closed to passengers in February 1963. The station and the nearby Blackwater junction complex should be distinguished: a station location does not identify every set of points or former connecting curve. Their separate records help explain how the coastal branch fitted into the wider railway.
