Tregurrian is the village above Watergate Bay on the coast north of Newquay. It gives a specific geographical endpoint to the railway scheme authorised from Padstow in 1903.
That is a more precise claim than saying an entire Newquay–Padstow railway was authorised and built. Watergate Bay Hotel’s own history remembers a wider railway expectation, but the hotel, bay, village and proposed line are separate subjects. Keeping Tregurrian in the picture helps locate the documented proposal without extending it beyond the evidence.
