Ellenglaze Mine was a small lead mine near Ellenglaze, between Cubert and Holywell Bay. Mine references record its abandonment in 1839, placing it in the working landscape before the later railway proposals.

The research identifies an adit south of the hamlet and shafts to the north and north-west. An adit is a passage driven into the ground from the side, often used for drainage or access; it is not automatically a smuggler’s tunnel.

The mine is a separate subject from Ellenglaze Manor’s mill and waterwheel. They shared a landscape and watercourse, but proximity does not prove that the mill processed ore. The 1842 manor survey at Kresen Kernow is an important record for understanding how buildings, fields and workings related to one another.
