Goonhavern Halt served the village on the Chacewater–Perranporth–Newquay railway. It belonged to the section that continued east from Perranporth towards Shepherds and Newquay.

The halt is recorded in Cornwall’s Historic Environment Record, although its exact platform position still needs to be recovered from authoritative mapping. The nearby Treamble mineral railway was a different route with a different purpose. Keeping the passenger halt and mineral line separate makes the district’s overlapping transport history easier to follow.
