Mitchell & Newlyn Halt was a rural passenger stop on the Chacewater–Newquay branch, serving the area around Mitchell and St Newlyn East. The Newlyn in its name is St Newlyn East, not the fishing town near Penzance.
It lay beyond Shepherds on the approach towards the Lappa valley and Newquay. Its station record supplies a location independently of neighbouring railway structures. The line’s final passenger trains ran in February 1963. Historical mileage accounts differ slightly, so a precise chainage should not be inferred from the name or from a rounded route map.
