Lead workings in the Fistral landscape, with old shafts mapped before the golf course existed.
Newquay Consols is associated with the names Fistral Mine and North Wheal Providence. The county historic survey records old shafts on the 1879 map of land later occupied by the golf course. These workings help explain why the headland has an industrial underground history. No inspected plan demonstrates a connection to the Red Lion passage or Atlantic Hotel.
