Tolcarn Junction was part of the railway approaches to Newquay, where the former Perranporth route met the railway network on the town’s eastern side. The name is also encountered as Tolcarne.
It is a railway location, not another name for Tolcarne Beach. Changes to tracks and later development make the historic layout harder to read on the ground. Published mileage references disagree, so an exact junction position should be recovered from dated mapping rather than inferred from a modern street, beach or general Newquay coordinate.
