Boscarne Junction was where the Great Western branch from Bodmin General met the older Bodmin & Wadebridge Railway. The connection opened in 1888, one year after the main-line branch had reached Bodmin General.

That junction allowed different railway systems to meet in the Camel valley. It should be distinguished from Bodmin Road, now Bodmin Parkway, which is the main-line interchange outside the town. Following the two junctions explains the route from the Cornwall main line through Bodmin towards Wadebridge and, after 1899, Padstow.
