Beyond the existing website
The Commercial Bar Association of Victoria needed more from its website: deeper profile integration, additional functionality and content management suited to the people running it.
The project came through an Australian intermediary with a detailed brief. I worked directly with that contact and took responsibility for developing the new site.
Building around the requirements
I proposed a custom Joomla build and designed and developed it around the agreed requirements. The work included individual barrister profiles, API connections to information held by the separate Bar Association website, and a route for visitors to send enquiries to particular barristers and receive direct responses.
Content management was an important part of the brief too. The organisation needed to be able to manage its own information through a system that fitted its workflow.
Complex development, straightforward communication
The finished website delivered the functionality the client had asked for, and they were exceptionally pleased with it. A detailed brief and one clear point of contact made a technically demanding project straightforward to manage.
Working across the UK–Australia time difference was familiar territory. Clear communication kept the decisions and delivery moving.
