Muskoka Communities

Muskoka Communities owned Bonnie Lake Resort and Shamrock Bay Resort. I created websites, videos, brochures and marketing campaigns for all three.

Websites and marketing for a parent company and two resorts.

Three businesses, each with its own presence

The relationship began with promotional videos and marketing material for Bonnie Lake Resort and grew into work across three businesses: Muskoka Communities, the parent company, and its two resorts, Bonnie Lake Resort and Shamrock Bay Resort.

Muskoka Communities was a website project in its own right. I created separate websites for the parent company and both resorts, giving each its own online presence.

02 / The work

The full range, across all three

For Muskoka Communities, Bonnie Lake Resort and Shamrock Bay Resort, I created websites, videos, brochures and campaigns, and delivered SEO, Google AdWords advertising and social media. The work covered the parent company as well as each resort.

Shane Melanson remained my main point of contact. He would come to me with a commercial goal—more enquiries, more clients or bookings for a particular period—and I would advise on the approach and deliver the work to support it.

That meant moving between planning and production: building websites and landing pages, producing films and print material, developing campaign creative and managing activity across search and social channels.

03 / What changed

The value of knowing all three businesses

Over several years, the initial commission became an ongoing creative and digital relationship covering the parent company and both resorts. The value was continuity: someone who understood the businesses, could advise on the next requirement and could also carry the work through.

The owners eventually sold the business and were pleased with their exit. My role in this story was the sustained digital and creative support along the way.
