The Run Lab

Scripting, on-location filming and production for a specialist 3D running-analysis service.

Explaining the motion-analysis results.

A specialist running service, explained in the language of its audience.

I created a targeted promotional film for The Run Lab’s 3D running-analysis service, combining scripting, interviews and filming on location with editing and production. The film was aimed at professional and high-endurance runners who needed to understand a specialist offer.

New technology needed the right explanation

The Run Lab had invested in a 3D system that analysed running and provided detailed information about performance. It needed a promotional film to introduce that service to the right audience.

The brief was specifically aimed at professional and specialist high-endurance runners. The language and terminology needed to reflect that audience’s interests and understanding of running, with a clear explanation of what the service involved.

02 / The work

Filming the service in context

I worked on scripting and interviews and filmed on location at the client’s premises in St Austell. Showing the equipment in use, alongside an explanation of the analysis, connected the technical subject with a real service experience.

The wider production included video editing, voiceover, audio production and animation, with shorter pieces for social use alongside the main promotional film. Each part helped turn the service into something a prospective customer could understand by watching.

03 / What changed

A clearer way to present a specialist offer

The finished film showcased the equipment and made the service easier to explain. It delivered the specialist promotional piece the client wanted, with the message shaped around the runners it was intended to reach.

The project demonstrates the thinking behind targeted production: understanding the audience, choosing the right terminology and showing enough of the service to make a technical offer clear.
